How to Tie a Square Knot

The basic formula for tying a this knot is: right over left, left over right!

The knot should be symmetrical and lay flat without any twists or turns. A properly tied squared knot will hold firmly under tension and can be untied easily by pulling on the loose ends of the ropes. Improperly tied is called a “granny knot”.
