What Is A Lineman?
A Lineman is somebody who builds and constructs Power-lines, substations, underground wire, and all “outside” of the home power delivery systems. These are the structures and poles you see everywhere you go. Linemen are also responsible for maintaining and repairing the power grid. This includes rebuilding and repairing old lines, substations, and other power grid components. The reason you have power is because of linemen.

Our Teaching Process
Learning the full breadth of the electrical trades can be extremely time consuming. That’s why we have broken it down to a step by step process.
In this process we expose you to the information, test you on the information, then expose you again.
Exposure
In step one, we expose you to the information. This exposure comes in the form of interactive video modules. Each video inside these modules ranges from 2 - 10 minutes in length.
Testing
In the testing modules, we give you 4-5 questions based on the previous video content. You must receive an 70% score or higher to move onto the next module.
Re-expose
After taking the quizzes, we go over the information again in an overview. All of these modules are designed to be consumed as many times as you need.

Meet your instructor. Austin completed the Northwest Line JATC in 2020. Austin started in this trade over 5 years ago and he’s been loving it ever since. From doing helicopter work in the Columbia gorge, to pole changeouts in Seattle back yards, he’s experienced a bunch and now he’s here to help others get started.
When Austin was first getting started in the trade, he had no idea where to go. This Academy is made for anyone who’s interested in getting into the power lineman trade, but doesn’t know where to start.
You can make naywhere from $80,000 – $500,000 a year as a journeyman lineman
No; a high school diploma or GED and a very basic knowledge of algebra (which we teach in the course) is all you need to get started!
It takes from 3.5 – 4 years (7,000 hrs) to complete the apprenticeship program and become a journeyman lineman.
